　　　　　在資訊檢索的領域中，自動化文件分類是一項重要的研究題目。利用自動化文件
分類技術可以組織文件資料，讓使用者有效率且有系統的檢索出他們需要的資訊。由於網路
資料的豐富及多元化，在網際網路的資訊服務上特別需要應用這項技術。在本文中，我們將
概要的說明自動化文件分類與一些關於這項技術的研究，並討論目前網路資訊服務的問題與
應用這項技術的挑戰。
　　　　　Automatic document classification is an important research direction in
information retrieval. Using the technologies of automatic document
classification is able to organize unstructured document information. It makes
users to retrieve the requested information efficiently and systematically.
Especially, it is highly desired to apply the technologies of automatic document
classification to the Internet information services, because of the plurality
and the diversity of document information in the Internet. In this paper we will
give overviews of automatic document classification and the related researches.
The problems of current network information services and the challenges of
applying the technologies of automatic document classification to these problems
will be also discussed.
