　　　　　根據過去的文獻，自殺防治的工作共分為五類（一）自殺預防中心（二）自殺防治學會及刊物（三）減少致自殺的手段與方法（四）媒體報導與自殺防治（五）危機處理網絡。本研究以 651 名連營輔導長為研究對象，評估目前自殺防治課程實施情形，並提供未來課程及防治方向的建議。基層連營輔導長對目前實施的自我傷害課程，九成左右感到滿意，對自殺癥兆的瞭解、預防、處理均較上課前瞭解許多，認為時數略嫌不足。對禾來課程的建議，時數以四小時為宜，時間最好在早上。人數以 10 至 20 人為宜。方式以「分組小班式的互動討論」，由「專業及實務經驗者來授課」。內容以「過去成功及失敗的案例」來說明「自我傷害的癥兆、預防、處理過程」：其次教授「諮商晤談技巧」，輔以「各種問題類型」的輔導方式，研究者根據上述研究結果，做出結論與建議，供有關單位參考。
