The purpose of this study was to analyze pitching movement by a pitching model for an assessment and evaluation of athletic skill in baseball. Using qualitative analysis, a fine movement was performed and measured directly. The subject was one baseball player in National Taiwan College of Physical Education. Pitching movement was collected every 1.5 second for 16 pictures in row using the No. 50802300, Fuji Sequential Camera. Recording data was selected and analyzed. Following the weakness of the movement identified by the pitching model, the improvement is recommended. Results were suggested to the player as following: 1.Picture No. 1-9 indicated movement during preparatory phase that showed storage of strength in the medial thumb toe of axial leg (right leg) and meanwhile the central gravity of body moved forward. 2.The back swing movement of the arm followed by stride should toward to mid- out field. 3.Following the stride, the left shoulder should not perform left forward adduction prematurely and glove should not be lower too early. 4.The angle of the right arm should move toward (forward) to the catcher when a big swing movement was performed. 5.The transfer of central gravity was from the right to left leg following pitching in order to support. Body position should not deviate to central axis that caused a deviation of right leg during it strove. 6.To minimize respective weaknesses, a distance pitching was recommended.
