題名:影響我國中小學學生科學家印象因素之綜論

     本文以質的研究法對國內共297位中小學學生之科學家的印象、看法和原因進行一對一的晤談,並加以歸納分析。結果顯示隨著學生的年齡增加有愈多的學生認為科學家的外表應是戴眼鏡、禿頭、衣著隨便、有鬍子和穿實驗衣,同時對於科學家之種族與性別看法,包容性增大。而至於對科學家的可能工作性質和場所以及職業的認識也較接近真實的世界,同時其所持原因看法和解釋也比低年級學生較貼近於真實的科學家。結合作者過去的相關研究深入的探討影響不同年級、性別學生的科學家看法以及追求科學生涯與意願等因素,發現國小五年級比其它年級有較多的學生認為女性也可成為科學家,國二的女學生雖認為男女學生均可成為科學家,但自己本身對於追求科學相關生涯的意願卻降到極低。並顯示出父母、學校環境、媒體和教科書對國小一、三年級的學生之科學看法、興趣以及追求科學生涯的意願之影響最大,教師則對國小五年級學生影響較大,異性同儕對國中二年級學生影響最大。
