回民族是漢、胡等多民族融合后自元代正式形成的少數民族,自元后,回民不斷徙居安徽及皖江地區,并在明清初期形成兩次高潮。近代以來,皖江流域回民農業、商業等經濟不斷發展,建國后發展尤其迅速。回民經濟社會的發展給回民生活的改善和回漢民族間的進一步融合帶來了重要影響。回民人口不斷增長,生活水平進一步改善,回漢進一步融合,社會進一步和諧。

The Hui nationality was formally existent after the fusion of other nationalities like the Hans,Hu people and so on since Yuan Dynasty. From then on,the Hui people constantly migrated into Wanjiang Region,culminating in two periods,one in early Ming Dynasty and the other in late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty. Since modern times,the Hui people in Wanjiang have achieved their economic development in terms of agriculture,commerce and so on,especially after the establishment of the new China,which have exerted great influence on the improvement of the Huis’ lives and the further fusion of the Huis and Hans. Accordingly,the constant increase of the Hui people,the improvement of people’s lives and the conglomeration with the Han people have made the society more harmonious.
