歷史上的"治邊"話語和"邊政"概念對今天"邊疆治理"概念的形成產生了深刻影響。隨著邊疆治理概念被明確界定、提出和普遍應用,邊疆治理研究始漸成為一個專門的研究領域。然而在當前的研究中,對于邊疆治理概念的使用并不統一,甚至缺少基礎的概念共識。特別是基于不同學科視角對邊疆治理概念的截取、解構和演繹,導致邊疆治理的內涵和邊界日漸模糊,對這一核心概念的解釋力產生了消解和削弱效應。在這種形勢下,應當確立邊疆治理概念界定和使用的國家視角,以形成基本的概念工具和學術立場,從而持續推進中國邊疆治理話語體系和中國邊疆學學科的構建進程。

The discourse of "governing the border area" and the concept of "frontier politics" in history have exerted a profound impact on the formation of today’s "frontier governance" concept.With the concept of frontier governance being clearly defined,proposed and widely used,frontier governance research has gradually become a special field of study.However,there is no uniform use of the frontier governance concept,even no basic consensus on the concept in current study.In particular,the interpretation,deconstruction and deduction of the concept from perspectives of different disciplines have led to an increasing blur between the connotation and boundary of frontier governance research,which dispels and weakens the explanatory power of this core concept.Under such circumstances,the state perspective should be established to define and use the frontier governance concept in order to form the basic conceptual means and academic position,and to promote the development of the frontier governance discourse system and frontier science in China.
