Myanmar’s Rohingyas are considered as"one of the most severely persecuted ethnic groups in the world"by the United Nations. For a long time,most Rohingyas have not been allowed to obtain Myanmar’s citizenship or to have basic rights in politics,economy,religion,and culture. They have been living in dire conditions. What has caused the various appalling problems that the Rohingyas face? A convincing explanation has yet to be found. From a postcolonialist perspective,this article attempts to re-examine how the Rohingyas Problem originated historically and manifested in the modern era.
