舞臺燈光作為戲劇藝術的一種表現手段越來越被重視,在照明觀念與表現形式等方面都變得多種多樣、異常活躍。戲劇性與非戲劇性(音樂、歌舞等演藝活動)的藝術照明界限越來越模糊,表現手段相互利用,審美情趣相互影響。在多元化格局中,編劇、導演、舞臺美術的創新意識既重視藝術之間的相互借鑒,又重視演出之間的標新立異。當代舞臺燈光已經進入前所未有的新時代。戲劇演出中,舞臺燈光在復雜多變的空間塑造方面為動態的"物理空間"(人物與景物的實體)和"心理空間"(人物內在情感的外化)創造出具有審美價值的光,打造成"活的藝術品"。

Lighting as a stage technique has drawn more attention,with more diverse new ideas and forms of lighting being adopted recently.The borderline between theatrical and non-theatrical(of music,singing and dancing)lighting has been more and more blurred,and the two types of lighting share both techniques and aesthetic tastes.In our age that upholds diversity,the creative ideas in playwrighting,directing and stage designing lead to borrowings from other artistic forms,as well as to the uniqueness of a production.An unprecedented new age for lighting has started.Lighting makes diverse spaces on stage.The dynamic"physical space"(the physical world of men and setting)and"psychological space"(the externalization of the characters’inner world)are turned into"living works of art"with lights of aesthetic value.
