隨著時代的發展和學科研究的擴展,"民族志"概念的譯義已經產生各種誤解,不能準確表述新的研究狀態和不斷擴展的研究對象,繼續使用"民族志"一詞將不利于人類學學科的普及與壯大。"Ethnography"包括了實地性、描述性等田野工作的基本特征,基于田野工作之上的"Ethnography"翻譯為"田野志"較為理想。從人種志、民族志到田野志,反映了學科演變的脈絡和研究對象一步步延伸的趨向,更是人類學研究理念上不斷更新的標志。

With the development of the times and the expansion of the discipline,various misunderstandings in the translation of the term of"ethnography"have been produced,which cannot accurately describe the new research status and the expansion of its research objects,and continuing to use the title of"minzuzhi民族志"will not be conducive to the popularization and expansion of anthropology."Ethnography"includes some basic characteristics of fieldwork such as field research and descriptiveness,and it is more ideal to translate"ethnography"based on fieldwork into"tianyezhi田野志".From"renzhongzhi人種志"to"minzuzhi"and then to"tianyezhi",it reflects the evolution of the discipline and the tendency of the expansion of research step by step,and it is also a symbol of the renewal of anthropological research ideas.
