Reading Station of Nanhai Public Library in Guangdong province is a new exploration for theconstruction of central-branch public libraries at county-level in China, which is characterized by flexiblelocation,large quantity and density,multiple agents and high efficiency. Reading Stations have improved theservices in grassroots libraries,promoted the transformation and upgrading of village libraries,created a central-branch public library service system with wide coverage,and finished the last one-kilometer of public libraryservice. However,there are still some challenges for the reading stations in institutional system,management,resource allocation and hardware.
