從《時局全圖》開始,清末報刊漫畫運用地圖、千里鏡的符碼,建構讀者對自我國家現狀的認知,通過"瓜分""病夫"的視覺隱喻,塑造民眾的民族國家觀念以及對民族危機的想象。民初報刊漫畫家形成了創作的"真相觀",用漫畫作為照見社會現實的"燈和鏡",在一種"去蔽"的視覺機制下,呈現反照凋敝政局和落后國民性的"鏡中像",啟發國民主體意識的覺醒。在中國從封建國家向現代民族國家邁進的過程中,清末民初報刊漫畫以視覺修辭啟蒙話語建構讀者特別是底層民眾的近代民族國家觀念和國民主體意識,實現了圖像的"高調啟蒙",構成了中國視覺現代性的獨特軌跡。
Since the publication of Shiju Quantu( Panorama of the Current Political Situation),the imagination of the w esterners created by new spaper comics during late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China shaped the public perception of a national crisis and raised their national aw areness. New spaper cartoonists have formed a concept about the truth during creation. Comics have become a mirror that reflects social re ality,aw akening the people’s subjective consciousness. By shaping the public’s imagination of the West and their ow n people’s cognition, they constructed a common visual consciousness of the readers,especially the people at the bottom of the society,for the modern nationstate and modern national subject. In the historical process of China’s progress from a feudal country to a modern nation-state,new spaper comics in late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China formed a set of high-profile enlightenment discourses that promoted the transformation of the country and the national subject in a visual w ay.
