The first emperor of Qin established three prefectures of Guilin,Nanhai and Xiang after he unified the area of south of the five ridges. The Guilin prefecture covered most parts of the present Guangxi.Due to the lack of evidences,debates over the seat of Guilin prefecture entered into endless arguments since the sixth year in the reign of Emperor Daoguang of Qing Dynasty. Four different viewpoints have been appeared,namely,Guiping,the former Gui county,the junction of Fengshan,Lingyun and Bama counties,and Juntian village of Luoxiu town in Xiangzhou county. This article argues the seat of the Guilin prefecture locates in the area from Fuman village to the Shuichong ridge,1. 5 kilometers away from the southeast of Mount Xiangshan in Xiangzhou county.
