ABSTRACT
Since Epstein (1984), the study found that parental involvement and student learning achievements have a significant impact. Governments actively develop and encourage parents to participate in activities. Many countries have included parental participation in school evaluation indicators, which shows the importance of promoting parental participation. This study will explore whether parental gratitude can help improve student achievement, examine the quality of school services through Epstein's six parental involvement models, and explore relevant factors that influence parental involvement.
In this study, the parents of students in public and private national primary schools in Tainan City were selected as the research object. The questionnaires were collected by stratified purposive sampling, A total of 466 valid questionnaires were collected. After the reliability and validity analysis, in order to understand the relationship between the variables, the structural equation model (SEM) had been used for structural model detection.
This study assumes that after the verification and discussion based on the empirical results, the research conclusions are as follows.
1. Parental involvement has a positive impact on the quality of school services.
2. The quality of school services has a positive impact on parents' gratitude.
3. Parental gratitude has a positive impact on parental satisfaction.
4. Parents' gratitude has a positive impact on parental trust.
5. Parental gratitude has a positive impact on parental support.
6. Parental satisfaction has a positive impact on parental support.
7. Parental trust has a positive impact on parental support.
8. Parental support has a positive impact on learning.
9. Parental gratitude has a positive impact on learning.
10. Parents' trust have an intermediary effect through the relationship between parental gratitude and parental support.
11. Parents' satisfaction have an intermediary effect through the relationship between parental gratitude and parental support.
12. Parents' gratitude have an intermediary effect through the relationship between school services quality and parental trust.
13. Parents' gratitude have an intermediary effect through the relationship between school service qualityand parental satisfaction.
14. Parents' gratitude have an intermediary effect through the relationship between school services quality and parental support.
15. Parents'support have an intermediary effect through the relationship between
parental gratitude and student achievement.
Finally, based on the above conclusions, this study proposes relevant recommendations for the follow-up researchers to explore the future research.
