臺灣地區高樓林立,地狹人稠,如何選擇一項不受天候、空間的限制,且能符合國人特性,為一般人所能接受的運動,才能將全民運動普遍推展給中老南,來促進中老年人身、心、社會的全人健康,提昇生活品質,是健康從業人員當務之急。 在中國傳統的運動當中太極拳是一種身、心放鬆的運動,是一種具有韻律性的有氧運動,以雙腳移動來維持身體對空間的平衡感,是一種無論男女老少皆適宜的運動;也不受場地的限制,室內、室外均可從的一項運動,本篇文章從研究文獻探討的方式著手,從太極拳練響對健康的益進行剖析,無論從氣的觀點、呼吸循環系統的研究、疾病的探討及心理反應的分析,都能了解太極拳對健康促進的功效,最後,提出實施太極拳應注意的事項,以期使更多人參與太極拳,並從中獲得健康。
