A scholar in Sung Dynasty, Yang Wan-Li identified the principles of The Book of Change with some important historical events in his book, Cheng Zhai’s Commentary of the book of Change. He expected the readers could grasp the gist of The Book of Change and keep them in mind as directions in life. Some examples were taken out from Yang’s book as evidences of his characteristics in explaining The Book of Change. Its position in the history of the studies of The book of Change was also evaluated.
