For the sake of securing Taiwan's distant fishing interests, Taiwan has actively participated in various regional tuna fisheries organizations with various status and monocultures during the past decade with a view to enhancing its cooperation with various fisheries organization. Whether these participations do guarantee Taiwan's distant water fishing interests is a matter for further examination. Be that as it may, Taiwan participates in these various intergovernmental organizations without being admitted a Contracting Party. In addition, Taiwan is admitted under the presumption that Taiwan shall be differentiate from other participants in various degrees. Whether such participation will be, in the long run, detrimental to Taiwan's international personality is a matter worth of exploring. This article examines such participation's international law implication and suggests possible means to address some of the negative impacts that might affect Taiwan's international personality.
