編輯人在出版流程中扮演的角色，是潤滑劑亦是鞏固作者和讀者間的橋樑。文壇上因有許多優秀編輯存在，方能留下諸多優秀作品；編輯可說是文學史、出版史的參與者、推動者和促進者。林海音長期擔任「編輯人」的角色，其編輯表現對臺灣文壇也產生了一定的影響。然而對林海音的研究一向偏重在其文學創作部份，至於其在「編輯出版」這塊領域中的探討，少有人論及。因此本文將以林海音主編《聯合報》副刊、《純文學》月刊、純文學出版社三場域為論述範圍，探討林海音的編輯手法及編輯特色。觀察其如何將個人意識型態注入所出版刊物或書籍中？藉此了解編輯在文學理念傳播及社會文化構成中所引起的重要性。並彰顯林海音生命歷程的重要階段表現。

The role that the editor acted in publishing procedure, are both lubricant and consolidating the bridge among the author and readers. Because there are a lot of outstanding editors to exist in the literary field, it can leave a great deal of works of excellence. The editor can be regarded as participant, promoter and pusher of literature history and publishes history. Lin Hai-yin serves as 'the editor's role for a long time, and her editor behaves has a certain influence on literary world of Taiwan But the study on Lin Hai-yin always lays particular stress on in some of its literary creation, as for her few people touch upon in the discussion in editing field. Therefore, this research discussed about the editorial technique and feature of Lin Hai-yin within Belle-Letters Monthly, Belle-Letters Publisher and the supplement of United Daily News which Lin edited, and observed how she poured individual conscious into the publications and books, so as to understand the importance of editor in literature ideal propagation and social culture constructing, and demonstrated the performance of important stage in Lin's careers.
