在西方近代章節體的學術史寫法傳入之前，通過為主要學者立傳的方式來展示一朝學術的大體面貌，一直是中國傳統學者在對本朝及前代學術史進行文本書寫時所採用的基本形式，清代亦復如是。有清一代，這些傳記體的學術史中就包括《國朝漢學師承記》、《國朝學案小識》等名篇，這些清人視野下的清代學術史在為今人研究提供獨特資料的同時，其本身的文本研究也引起研究者相當的重視。但是，作爲清代重要的官方傳記體學術史——《國史．儒林傳》本身的修撰情況，長期以來卻被忽視。已有研究大多將這部傳記籠統視爲阮元的作品，並不了解其間增刪、續修的情況。本文在時賢已有成果基礎上，利用清國史館原始檔案和相關修撰者的別集，對這部清人自撰清學史的基本情況進行梳理與考察，以期有助於學者們更好地利用此傳來研究清代學術史。

Before the adoption of modern, chapter-based academic history, the writings of important scholars were used to outline the academic and intellectual history of a dynasty, as well as those preceding it. The Ch'ing dynasty was no exception to this pattern. In the Ch'ing, these compilations included such famous works as the Kuo-ch'ao han-hsüeh shih-ch'eng-chi and Kuo-ch'ao hsüeh-an Hsiao-shih. The focus of these works was to provide readers with materials for study, while stressing the importance of the editor's contribution. However, the compilation of Kuo-shi: Ju-lin Chuan, an important academic history of the Ch'ing dynasty, has long been overlooked. Although scholarly research generally attributes this work to Juan Yüan, no scholars have yet described its compilation and editing in sufficient detail. This article will address these questions, utilizing original documents from the Ch'ing imperial histories and other related documents to consider how Ch'ing scholars approached the construction of Ch'ing intellectual history. It is hoped that this study will allow scholars to better utilize Ch'ing compilations in their studies of Ch'ing intellectual history.
