本研究特別挑選對於死亡有時間臨界感，並且接觸死亡個案頻繁的醫院高齡志工，以問卷調查法分析該族群的生命意義感與死亡態度，研究結果顯示宗教信仰可以減緩對於死亡的恐懼感，並且對於生命意義感題生有實質的助益；同時，當生命意義感的體驗越深刻，對於死亡恐懼的感覺越低。共有208份有效問卷，回收率20.8%，以問卷調查法研究分析，研究發現將有助於國內生命教育課程的設計，協助學生找尋生存的目的與理由，將有助於接納死亡這個不可避免的事實，培養積極面向的人生觀。

In this study, we selected as samples those elderly volunteers who have frequently contacted with deaths in the hospitals and who are old enough to sense that death may come to themselves at any time. This study was able to collect a total of 208 valid questionnaires, which were then analyzed by the questionnaire survey method to find what meanings of life and what attitudes toward death the surveyed samples may have. Research results show that religion plays an important role in reducing fear of death and uplifting the meaning of life. The more profound the meaning of life those elder sense, the lower the fear of death they feel. These two findings may contribute to the design of life education programs which will help students to find purposes of life and the reasons to survive, to accept death as an inevitable fact of life, and to develop a positive outlook on life.
