《史記》寫武將的專篇約有二十篇，人數超過三十位。其中，漢朝的將領佔了十二篇，除了〈李將軍列傳〉與〈衛青驃騎列傳〉兩篇武帝時期的將領之外，其餘十篇都是秦、漢之際與高祖馳騁沙場的將領，可見司馬遷對這批將領十分看重。本文從建立功業、善用兵法、智謀與君臣關係面向分析漢初十篇武將列傳，論述其功業、兵法、智謀、君臣關係以及結局，闡發司馬遷撰錄漢初武將的多重意義。
