姜宸英是清初康熙朝間文士、大詞人納蘭性德的老師，一生勤苦讀書，經史百家無所不窺；詩、文、書法造詣精絕，允為一代宗匠。其性格孤傲耿介，不與世推移，以致運途蹇塞，久困科場，七十歲始成進士，不久因冤案死於獄中。惜學者論及清代藝文，多遺略此老，少有措意，至今未有專門之研究。本論文裒集其生平相關資料，試就其人其藝作初步探析。
