隨著民國時期世界性的跑狗運動興起，有東方蒙地卡羅之稱的澳門緊跟潮流，亦步亦趨，先後出現了跑狗娛樂有限公司、澳門賽狗會和南華賽狗遊藝有限公司籌辦經營澳門的跑狗事業。然而，澳門的跑狗事業時運不濟，命途多舛，幾經波折，最終歸於失敗。
Macau followed the trend of the emergence of greyhound racing in the world during the period of the Republic of China by setting up greyhound racing enterprises such as Greyhound and Entertaining Company, Macao Greyhound Company and South China Greyhound Racing Co. Ltd., all of these ended up in failure.
