As a pillar of the economy of Macao, the gaming sector has developed rapidly in recent years. Whether the sector could achieve a sustainable development, has become a focus of attention with the sector itself. This article provides a sketch to the historical stages and life cycles of the development of the gaming sector of Macao, including the characteristics of products, organisation, market, strucutre and policy, using the product life cycle theory. Based on the variables indentified in different life cycle stages, the operations strategies of the gaming sector are analysed, and the corresponding positioning, forms of development and strategies of competition are proposed.
