　　　　　就終身教育的觀點而言，美術館是大眾認識美術、接觸真品的重要場所。 相對於 典範、研究等其他功能，美術館的教育功能有日趨重要之勢。然而，若欲充分發揮美術館教 育潛能，則有必要認清美術館教育特質：其特質不同於學校及其他類型博物館。本文作者首 先轉借一學校課程理論的基礎架構，分別就教學環境、教師、學習者及教學內容等四層面探 討美術館教育的特質。隨後強調「展覽」係美術館發揮教育功能的核心所在。最後則提出美 術館教育理論與實務的未來發展方向。
