In South China and Southeast Asia, within their corresponding spatial topographies of Nanling,Pearl River and South China Sea Rim,three types of civilizations have emerged from constant interactions of nature, people and society, namely mountain civilization, river civilization and ocean civilization. The three civilizations as well as families, communities, nations and states encompassed within, are interrelated through their multiple interactions in politics, economy, culture and society, constituting an intricate, rich, highly interactive organism and a community of common destiny. In perspective of natural space, this paper tries to explain how "space","region"and "people"interact when south China and Southeast Asia are taken as a whole, open civilization system, and aims to explore the flow of various ethnic groups and the civilizations as well as the complex social and cultural networks that ensue.
