仙娘與蠱婆是共生于湘西苗族社會一正一邪的女性神性人員。因正邪身份,二者在苗疆的境遇有天壤之別,仙娘備受尊重,蠱婆飽經歧視。二者身份認同的形成有著截然相反的內在邏輯:仙娘在"癲狂"中形成"自認",通過安壇儀式產生"他認";蠱婆無辜受誣,產生"他認",抗爭無果后被迫內化為"自認"。前者是由己及人,由內至外的過程;后者是由人至己,被強加的過程。
Both the celestral lady who represents justice and the witch who represents evil are symbiotic divine female in the Hmong society in western Hunan province. Their circumstances differs greatly due to their identities, e.g. the celestral lady is fully respected while the witch suffers discrimination. The formation of the two identities have sharply contrastive inner logic, the celestral lady obtains self-identity in the"madness",then acquires social identity by an altar ceremony. The witch is slandered innocently and given a social identity which is forced to transform into a self-identity after a lose battle of resistance. The former process starts from oneself to others and from inside to outside while the later process is an imposed process commencing from others then to the oneself.
