The discipline of Chinese Aesthetics is the mean - It is neutral, middle, and non-extreme of everything. This meta-idea historically develops two systems in China. One is the Taoist type, its concept of the mean is both non-positive and non-negative, it wishes to achieve the ideality which is natural, peaceful, and esthetical. The other is the Confucian type, its concept of the mean is both positive and negative, but also is dialective from these two. It desires to reach the ideality which is humanistic, orderly, and ethical.In Chinese Aesthetics, therefore the mean stands on the specific leading position and the outstanding feature of ontology and methodology. The third dimension - Religion Aesthetics, it explores the humanism spirit of courtesy, especially for the dead.The development of Chinese Humanism Aesthetics is widely spreaded by Confucius(孔子), is succeeded by Mencius(孟子), be practiced by Cius(荀子), and is finally compounded by Book of Rites(禮記). Through the Life-Aesthetics, Culture-Aesthetics, and humanized Religion-Aesthetics, can expose the deep spirit connotation and the value origin of Chinese Humanism Aesthetics. These Humanism-Aesthetics before Chin(秦) dynasty sets an spiritual example of Chinese-Aesthetics, and imposes on humanism to be its fundamental character. So far as now, even though there are so many different Aesthetics statements and stresses in every period they all retrace back the original ideality which is based on the Humanism-Aesthetics.
