     國中基本學力測驗採用量尺分數計分方式,創下我國入學者試的先河。與國中學測同屬大規模標準化入學考試的大學入學考試學科能力測驗及指定科目測驗卻迄今未採用量尺分數。本文根據心理計量理論及相關研究文獻,針對量尺分數的定義、性質、功能、種類、方法、解釋等,提出深度的批判省思,探討的主題包括:何謂量尺分數?量尺分數的參照標準為何?組合量尺的測量標準誤等於各科量尺的平均測量標準誤嗎?測量標準誤在入學考試中的應用價值為何?入學考試適合作為唯一的入學決策依據嗎?不同科目的測量標準誤應該調整為相同嗎?「等測量誤差較換」真的能將各人的測量誤差調整成相同嗎?理想的測量標準誤應該是3嗎?量尺分數的最高分與最低分是如何設定的?一年多試的標準化常模應如何設定?最重要的是,量尺分數真的公平嗎?本文的目的是希望經由嚴謹的理論分析破除量尺分數的迷思,並規劃未來入學考試度量化的研究方向。
     Junior High School Basic Competency Test was the first large-scale admission testing program in Taiwan that introduced the concept of scale scores and standard error of measurement. If indeed scale scores were the solution to long-standing measurement issues, why would the college Entrance Examination Center reject the use of scale scores? This paper examines some critical issues in scaling large-scale admission tests, challenging some of the methodological myths in scaling procedures. A thorough investigation of these issues points to future directions for scaling research.
