Taiwan and China completed their application procedure for accession to WTO this year, and formally became its members. As an international organization with membership from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, WTO has significant meanings for cross-strait interaction sand relations. Will the interactions in WTO improve the cross-strait relations? Will a new pattern of interactions appear between the two sides or will the cross-strait relations head towards a new direction due to their membership in WTO? Since Taiwan and China are also members of another important international organization, APEC, the experiences in the APEC can be useful references for observing their interactions in WTO. Based on the experiences in the APEC, this article will explore the possible interaction pattern between the two sides in the WTO, and its impacts on cross-strait relations.
