It is usually considered that the sign systems can help users to solve the problems of way finding in complex buildings such as museum, but it doesn’t always work well. Besides the factors of individuality, there have other factors that may also influence uses’ behavior in way finding. In this case, form the survey and interview with patrons and staff of the National Nature Science Museum (NNSM), researcher wanted to find the efficiency of each facility in the In-house Information Service Systems in helping the user to solve the way finding problem, and the sources how they contributed to the way finding in museum and what relationship between them. After that, researcher analyzed the character and influence of those sources/factors in two categories: Architecture and Non-architecture. The Architecture Factors includes the environmental clues/information and public service facilities. The Non-architecture factor includes the sigh system and management policies. There are two parts in the environmental information; one is “Primitive Information” such as landmarks or special arrangement of facilities. Another is “Appending Information” which consisted of sign system mainly. Form the findings of research, the staff and designers should work more closely and friendly to carefully use the Architecture Factors to avoid and eliminate the problem of wayfinding for patrons in museum.
