　　　　　當圖書館中發生尋路問題時，通常會想到是館內的標示系統不夠完善，而很少想 到館內的空間安排或其他部分會出現問題。本文嘗試從環境心理學的研究中，分析造成尋路 問題的各種因素及它們之間的相互關係，以進一步的認識尋路工作。從資料中發現個人因素 和環境條件是影響尋路工作的二個最重要因素。個人因素中以學習能力的影響最大，其中包 括對方位感、辨識能力和認知地圖的建立與運用。在環境條件方面，樓層平面的複雜性是關 鍵性的因素，其次是空間中決策點的數目和複雜性。要想減少館舍內的尋路問題，除了在空 間安排上儘量減少複雜性和決策點外，亦須妥善的利用環境中的建築特徵和標示系統來幫助 使用者進行尋路的工作；這是館員應有的認識，並可據以檢視建築設計成果，以期能有效的 減少尋路問題，使圖書館更具親切感和吸引力。
　　　　　Inadequate sign system is usually considered as the main problem of way-finding in a library. In order to find out other factors which influence the accessibility of way-finding, this article reviewed related researches in environmental psychology. Two important factors affect the conditions of way- finding. The first one is a human factor such as learning abilities which influence the development and use of legibility, orientation and cognitive map. The other one is the complexity of a floor plan with too many decision points in the way-finding route. Besides simplifying the complexity of the floor plan and reducing the number of decision point in the library, an adequate use of landmarks and in-house information systems can also promote the efficiency of way-finding in the library and make it more friendly and attractive.
