為憲法增修條文修正案舉辦的任務型國代選舉在2005年5月14日結束。以民進黨和國民黨為主的贊成陣營得到八成三的絕大多數票，因此可望通過這次的複決。這次選舉在政黨政治上有其特殊的意義，即台灣人民第一次有機會以暸解政黨的政見和其所持的立場投票。本次選舉結果也使政黨大小的排名發生變動，而一些小黨也有機會參與選舉並獲得到席次。不過有些參選的政黨組織和提名制度不完全，有關單位應該制定法規，使台灣的政黨政治依法走上正 軌。

The ad hoc National Assembly for referendum on constitutional amendments was elected on May 14, 2005. The Democratic Progressive Party Dpp and Kuomintang (KMT) altogether obtained 83 percent of the 300 seats, and both parties supported the package of constitutional amendment bills. This election had significant implications on party politics in Taiwan, as the country's citizens were given the opportunity for the first time to understand party policies and to vote directly for the parties they supported. The poll result also changed the positioning of political parties, as several small political parties participated in this campaign and acquired a few seats. However, the organization and candidate selection of some political parties are incomplete. The authorities should pass the necessary laws and regulations for future elections in order for Taiwanese party politics to proceed on the right track.
