The purpose of the study was to predict and explain the public health workers' intention of participating in health promotion training programs in Hualien and Taitung Counties. This cross-sectional study was conducted by mailing questionnaires to all 317 public health workers who were working in Hualien and Taitung Counties. The responding rate of the public health workers was 93.7%. The data was analyzed through the computer software package SPSS/PC11.5. The findings of this study also identify that attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavior controls are significant predictors of public health workers' intention of participating in health promotion programs. The significant contributions of age, marital-status, ducational-degree, working-years, and learning participation in the past were not in keeping with attitude, subjective norms, and/or perceived behavior controls of Ajzen's contention should be the mediators of behavioral intension. According to results of this study, the suggestion would be provided for planning health promotion training programs.
