The purpose of this report is to present the nursing experience of a patient with post right hand of 2-5 fingers and metacarpal bone joint crushing injury who had physical, and psychological distress after post several times of debridement and 2-5 fingers amputation. During the period of care, the author assessed the patient's condition using the Gordon's Functional health Assessment Guide. Data was collected by interview, observation, and physical examination. From major nursing problems were: 1. pain. 2. fear. 3. body image disturbance. 4. self-care deficit. In this period the author provide physical care, holistic care by listening, company, caring, and empathy to understand needs of patient. Finally, finally, patient was successful in facing body image disturbance and develop the patient's ability to care for himself.. Nursing experience from this case report can help nurses who take care of similar cases.
