摘 要 國內應用英語忽略研究語言學專業英語之理論導向,仍須投注於分析教師教學 及學生學習之專業英語之理論導向,據以設計更多具理論基礎之應用英語適性課程。 專業英語教學活動的實施需要在活動設計上考量師生職能及相關訓練的規劃做更進一 步組織研究。觀國內參考文獻在專業英語缺乏英語溝通技巧及學術英語認知語之訓 練,英文教師在專業英語教學中應增添英語溝通技巧的認知與訓練。經由以上研究背 景說明與相關文獻檢閱後,本研究欲引用BICS 及CALP 建構專業英語之英語溝通技巧 理論基礎及整合學術英語認知歷程。 本計畫欲確立出專業英語的論證基礎,提供設計 英語教學課程時有厚實的理論基礎參考。本研究計畫探索應用多元化英語論證基礎, 引發學生更高的學習動機而體現應用英語學生專業英語之成就。
Abstract This study inquires theoretical orientation to English for specific purposes (ESP) in a non- English speaking country and research English for Project Management Curriculum development in Taiwan. The purpose of this study is to explore the theoretical orientation to ESP in the Project Management classroom. This study focuses on Basic Interpersonal Communicative Skills (BIC) and Cognitive Academic Language Proficiency (CALP) (Cummins, 1981) as a guideline of the theoretical orientation. The significant aspects will effectively finding teaching skills that could identify students’ BICS and CALP to develop appropriate instructions based on BICS and CALP variables. It is hoped that the establishment of theoretical frame, along with its teaching approach, will benefit the development of ESP teaching in non-English speaking country.
