The purpose of this study was to analyze the relation between serves of the best female table tennis players in Taiwan and the performance of the tactics, and to compare with the difference between winners and losers. We do research on 11 top ranking female players in the tournament of table tennis in Taiwan in 2004 participating in this study and data is collected from 55 table tennis competitions. We observe by video cameras to photo game results of contestants. All data is analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson product-moment correlation and t test. The results as follows: 1. Serves of the best female table tennis players in Taiwan are relative to performances. Forehand-side backspin short shot, forehand-side side-and-topspin short shot, backhand-side backspin long shot, backhand-side side-and topspin long shot, backhand-side side-and-backspin long shot, backhand-side flat long shot, backhand-side topspin short shot, backhand-side side-and topspin short shot are notably relative to performances. 2. Winners have the significant level between performances and forehand-side backspin short shot, forehand-side side-and-topspin short shot, backhand-side backspin long shot, backhand-side side-and-topspin long shot, backhand-side side-and-backspin long shot, backhand-side flat long shot, and backhand-side side-and-topspin short shot. Winners are notably better than losers. And others have no significant differences between winners and losers. In order for the coach to decide the approach of serving in table tennis, we can refer to the differences of serving among the winners and the losers. This study will help the coach to introduce or create more advance and innovative serving in table tennis.
