Literature is a form of life and an extension of experiences. Hence, literary writings provide an access to writers' value of life, coupled with its meanings. This essay, thus, aims to examine the inner land-scape of mind in the contemporary Chinese philosopher Lao Xi-Kung's (勞思光) literary work, Wei-Chai Ci (韋齋詞). The essay contains four main parts: First, the foreword, which outlines that Lao Xi-Kung, as a scholar of culture, presents his mind and spirit; Second, Exploring Lao Xi-Kung's values of life from "Awaken from Perplexity" and "Emancipation from imprisonment"; Third, discussing Wei-Chai Ci's enlightenment-pain of life and distress of culture-from Weari-ness of Will and Melancholy of Feelings; Fourth, exploring Wei-Chai Ci's inner landscape of mind and its meaning; and last, conclusion of the essay.
