This paper discussed the influence of legends to the genre of poetry Sung lyric. The story of Chang-Hen Song and Chang-Hen-Song Legend, the two main themes in this paper, together with Yang Tai-Zhen Legend, jotting novels, and poetry were discussed. The attempt was to understand the extent to which the story was accepted or integrated into the words the Sung produced, and to analyze the content as well as the features of the literature work written in the form of Sung lyric.The underlying factors that leaded to this literature phenomenon were also explored. This paper was made to understand the integration of the literature work of different genres in two time spans. The love story of Tang Xuan-Zong and Yang Gui-Fei was a popular subject of writing in Tang Dynasty.; by then, content in relation to this story has been found prevalent in poetry and novels. The love story of emperor and his concubines was grounded as one type of writing material in Tang, and was further regarded as the prototype of the love story. Its influence on the contemporary writers of Sung Dynasty was evidenced in Li Bai’s Qing-Ping Tone, Bai Ju-Yi’s Chang-Hen Song, and Chen-Hong’s Chang-Hen-Song Legend. From the aspect of literature, the story even though had a more intensive influence on oral literature, theater, and novel of later time, it was worth noticed that genres of different kinds influenced one another as the impact on Sung’s literature was obviously coming from the gene dominated in Tang Dynasty.
