Standardization scoring for polytomous response testing can be used to compare the ordering relation of any tow heterogeneous items. Therefore, Liu(2003)proposed the ordering theory for standardized polytomous response testing. Normalization scoring for polytomous response testing has the same type as the well known dichotomous response testing. Thus, Liu & Chien(2006)proposed the ordering theory for normalization polytomous response testing. To consider two kinds of above advantages, an improved ordering theory for polytomous response testing based on standardization-normalization scoring is proposed. This paper also shows that the proposed polytomous ordering coefficients can be applied to analyze the ordering relationships of any heterogeneous dichotomous items or heterogeneous polytomous items.
