A major aim of this paper is to explain the relationship between cultural values and work value sin terms of ethnic origin (controlling the contextual influences), organizational culture (controlling both the ethnic and contextual influences), and different cultural exposure experiences. The sample was collected from China and Australia. Altogether, 213 respondents took part in the study. Useful input is provided for managers who are seeking to develop effective working relationships with Chinese counterparts. This paper also enriches existing Chinese values studies and serves as a starting point for future research concerning the detailed relationship between cultural values and work values.
