The function of Chinese characters, carring thoughts and feelings in the early stage, is promoted to the art realm expressing the grace of chirography, as they evolve with the development of civilization. Being a kind of pictograph, Chinese characters contain diversified aesthetics and connotation through difference performances. The purpose of this research is to classify the principle and type of character design, to induce the principle for poster editing, which is mainly designed with characters, to assort the type of character poster with KJ method, and to analyze the performance of Chinese-character oriented posters. The result of this research may conduce to poster designers and educators and, moreover, enhance the application of character design in domains related to design and education.
