Chiu Yuan was from Chu of Jan Kuo Dynasty which was in a disunited political situation. Jia Yi was born in the period conquered by Emperor Wen of Shi Heng Dynasty which was in a prosperous united political situation. Their environments of their time were so different, yet the writer of "She Ji", S Ma Chian, tried to put their biographies together. It must be based on some purposes. Therefore, the reading of "The co-biography of Chiu Yuan and Jia Sheng" starts frome here. Trying to find the analysises of the co-biography by S Ma-Chian, the similarities of Chiu Yuan and Jia Ye in the co-biography were discovered. On one hand, the author starts from the inner feelings and what Chiu Yuan and Jia Yi encountered of their time to discuss the motivation of their writings which expressed the same idea in "resentment". The author also disscussed the depression of the literati and their choices of self-life with clear and detailed clues as well as abundant and touching contents. On the other hand, through the analysis and statements above, the intention of the literary creation by S Ma Chian wre tried to be studied in order to discuss the connections among them three. According to Chiu Yuan's loyalty of his emperor and country from the spirit of the Confucianists, Jia Yi's advance and retreat in the philosophies of Confucisnist, Duo, Fa, and S Ma Chian's attitude to the society with the philosophies of Duo and Confucianists, the author expounds their journey of selecting self-life, and then gives the affirmative of S Ma Chian's endurance and transcendence of the value of life.
