Numerous Qin state and dynasty bamboo & wooden slips have been excavated in recent decades. They are important documents for research not only on the law, politics and civilization of the Qin dynasty but also on their literary history. The Muzhuji on the bamboo slips unearthed in Shuihudi prove the point that tales of marvels coming from history can be trusted. The chapter “Chengxiang” shows that a special verse style existed in the state of Chu in the late Warring States Period. The chapters “Dream” and “Mamei” are very vivid literary works. The chapter “Jie” is very lively and humorous. The letters from “Heifu” and “Jing” are full of sincere feeling. At the same time, they should hold a high place in the history of the state of Qin literature and the history of Chinese classics.
