The purposes of this study were to understand the leisure participation (LP) and leisure constraint (LC) for the adolescence in Taichung County, and to explore the differences between them. The research method applied questionnaire, with 533 adolescents. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, and oneway ANOVA. The results were as follows: (a) The activities of LP included entertainment, knowledge, social service, art and exercise. The factors of LC were time, academic stress, friends, and weather. LC can be categorized into academic, personal and external factors, and instructors and leisure resources.(b) LP was affected by gender, educational level and adaptation in accommodation. LC was affected by gender and educational level, adaptation in accommodation, and the money available for leisure activities. To enhance the happiness of adolescent life, we suggested abate the academic stress, and increase the quality and quantity of leisure activities.
