The history of Taiwan's semiconductor industry has been more than 40 years .In the government and industry to actively support these efforts, Taiwan has become a center for the global semiconductor industry, semiconductor manufacturing and design capabilities in the global semiconductor market also plays a pivotal role for the world's fourth largest producer. In which the semiconductor industry, the dynamic random access memory (DRAM) industry, whose market share is to achieve global ranking second only to South Korea, the global market share reached 22.4%, and have the world's lowest production cost advantages.Only in recent years by the impact of the trend of globalization, coupled with many a rising star such as Malaysia, Singapore and mainland China and other countries have put into making the development of Taiwan's semiconductor manufacturing industry, facing strong competitive pressure. However, since the semiconductor market at home and abroad since 2007, annual growth (3.2%), well below the 2006 level from 2003 to 2008, global semiconductor sales have shown annual growth significantly slowed the trend, mainly because of the half of the global economic boom due to being sub-prime crisis, inflation increased, as well as the impact of the second half of the actual demands of the financial tsunami, the impact of tightening, which particularly in the dynamic random access memory (DRAM) business environment in which the situation is not the most good. Therefore, this study will address the domestic semiconductor industry, related to the status of DRAM industry to make a detailed presentation and adoption of the international competitiveness of industry and trade specialization coefficient, to carry out domestic semiconductor dynamic random access memory of the international competitiveness of industry analysis.
