The purpose of the study is to analyze the procedure of losing ball in 2010 Football World Cup and offer our coaches and players for reference. We analyzed those games which 32 soccer teams joined in 64 matches by DVD recorded from Era TV and played them in slow motion, recording the time of losing ball in every match. The mean and percentage of the results were gathered after analyzing. The conclusions are as follows : (1) The numbers of losing ball in all 64 matches is 145 and 2.27 %per match. (2) Comparing the numbers of losing ball in both halfs, it is 86(59.31%) in the second half, which is more than 59 (40.69%) in the first half. The high rates are focused on the last 15 minutes before the second half. The dangerous period occurs at the most in the second half and the rate of losing ball in the first half should not be overlooked. The study proves the strength and spirit of players in each team are getting worse when it comes to an end and result in weaknesses in defense. Thus the high rates happen in the last 15 minutes in the second half and should particularly pay attention to the defense in the last 15 minutes before the end. Therefore, it is important for our coaches to make good use of time in the match in the future.
