Abstract: From the Year 2007 to 2011 accomplishment reports of National digital Archives Program, documents and files are still the most of the total archives in our application of digital archives now with 43% of the total. While the corresponding language, news, audio and video collections take only 18% together with other accounts, that is to say it takes only 6% of the whole video collection. In view of some related issues of the present domestic digital archives, there is still no completed or referable metadata of digital video archives established by experts and scholars according to the researchers investigated. Thus, this study aims to develop a related research platform design for video collections and exclusive metadata of video digital archives for future reference. The content of this study were divided into four parts: The first is the metadata required for video digital archive design; the second is the propose of the establishing process of video archive system; the third is the function description of the developed video archive platform; the fourth are results and analysis of users’ satisfaction. There are 103 questionnaires in total were distributed in this study with 2 invalid sample excluded. The valid sample number is 101. By the final results from questionnaires of this study, the satisfaction average mean of the archive system in this study is 4.03 followed by 4.16 of the picture archives and video content and 4.13 of the metadata revealed that the subject satisfactions toward the video archive platform designed in this study and the proposed metadata were acceptable.
