Purpose: The main purpose of this study was to understand the status of the southern Junior College teacher in work stress and leisure barriers, also discuse the correlation of leisure participation between the work stress and leisure barriers. Methods: the subjects of this study were the seven Junior College of Health Care and Management's teachers where south of Chiayi. We sent a total of 500 formal questionnaires, then 282 copies, and 63 incomplete ones were invalid. So, there were 219 valid questionnaires totally. The response rate was 43.8%. The questionnaire was designed by myself. After received the questionnaire data, the tool of software is SPSS10.0 statistical tools. Then, methods of analysis used descriptive statistics; independent sample t test (t-test), single factor analysis of variance (one-way ANOVA), Pearson product-moment correlation and stepwise regression analysis were analyzed. Result and Conclusion: The results were as follows: (a) The current status of stress score was 2.45. The dimension of job stress is ”work load” the highest. 1. Female teachers in the ”work stress” and ”work-loading” dimension significantly higher than male teachers; 2. ”A teacher, mentor and chief executive” of the teachers in the ”work-loading” dimension were significant higher than ”teacher and mentor” teachers; 3. The ”Single residence” teachers in ”overall work pressure” were significantly higher than ”husband and wife living alone” teachers. The ”living alone” teachers in ”work-loading” and ”disposable time” pressure were significantly higher than that of ”husband and wife living alone,” the teacher, ”live alone” teachers ”time dominance” dimension of the significant pressure higher than ”live with relatives,” the teacher; (b) The mean score in leisure constraints of Junior College teachers is 2.31. The dimensions of leisure constraints in order to ”external factors” the highest. In addition, the male teachers in the” participation companion ”dimension was significantly higher than female teachers; (c) Teachers' work stress, leisure barriers and leisure participation were not significant correlation, also can not effectively predict the teachers involved in the performance.
