This study used the limit equilibrium methods(LEM) and finite element methods(FEM) to simulate the slope stability. Because of the rainfall of typhoons and earthquakes, the slope sliding disasters frequently occurring in Taiwan. To understand the mechanism of slope failures and look the way dealing with the solvent. Collecting the disaster data and field survey data for the calendar year, discussion on the slope stability of the two regions and compared each other at Jiu-Fen and Woo-wan-Tsai Area, Mt. Ali Road for the study. The LEM is usually used in slope stability analysis. It can find potential sliding surfaces and safety factors rapidly, assuming simple regardless of soil actual behavior. In contrast, the FEM can find a slope displacement and stress field variation and plastic zone locations, may reduction in soil strength parameters, and to obtain factor of safety. Finally, comparing the safety factors with two methods. If we combine the two methods (LEM and FEM) using monitored data in the field, we can analyze slope stability clearly.
