五O年代,大陸地區進入文化鎖國時期,所有的詮釋都必須依循馬列主義所揭示的哲學觀點。在激烈的政治鬥爭下,六 O 至七 O 年代大陸發生「文化大革命」,激烈的批判與破壞傳統文化。時至今日,餘波未平。海峽彼岸的台灣,不論在學術研究與民間傳播上,對傳統文化中的儒家核心經典,有傑出的表現。在儒家經典的教育與傳播上的優勢,讓台灣在傳統文化上握有高度的話語權。台灣商務印書館能突破商業成本的考量,願意為台灣的儒學經典教育的普及化與學術通俗化,善盡其社會教育的責任。毛子水《論語今註今譯》不做空談心性、叢脞無用的考據;又不做固陋寡聞、閉目塞聰的學究。不光是匡正不少後人誤解的地方,而且獨出機杼,發人未發的見解,有理有據,觀點鮮明,令人耳目一新。本書通俗易懂,又不失學術的嚴謹性,是難得的名家譯本,也是注譯名著的典範,為儒學經典教育開創出「今註今譯」的道路,大有助於台灣儒學經典教育的傳播。
In the 1950s, the mainland into the cultural isolationist period, and all interpretation must follow the philosophy which were revealed in Marxist-Leninist. "Cultural Revolution" were happened during the fierce political struggle in the sixties and the seventies which traditional culture were criticized and destructed intensely. It still had a little effect until now. Taiwan where in the other side of Taiwan Strait, no matter in academic research or the dissemination of folk, had outstanding performance at traditional Confucian core classics culture. As the advantage in the education and dissemination of Confucian classics, Taiwan had a say on the traditional culture. Taiwan Commercial Press try to break commercial cost considerations and with a will to fulfill their responsibility for social education by popularization of the Confucian classics education and generalization of academic. This piece of writing did not idle talk mind and loaded down with useless trifles. It also afraid to be a pedant who was ignorant and ill-informed or out of touch with reality. Not only rectify many descendants' misunderstood and independence from the loom but also made people unpublished opinions, reasoned points clear and refreshing. This book was easy to be understood and rigor in academic; meanwhile, it was a rare famous translation and also note a model of Confucius classical education. It also created the rode of " Note this modern translation on Confucius Analects" and helpful to the disseminate of Confucius classic education in Taiwan.
